Welcome! You have just stepped inside the world of ACMetaforum, a Web 2.0-powered cyber destination that is part blog, part column, part forum and 100% dedicated to helping you get your hands on information that will help you with your photographic postproduction needs.
Although you will find many useful imaging techniques and strategies here, ACMetaforum is a not a standard “how-to” teaching blog or Website. The topics will not be limited to Photoshop or even image processing in general. As your ACMetaforum host, my goal is to bring you a broad and diverse spectrum of content critical to your overall business efforts as well as your growth and satisfaction as an artist.
ACMetaforum is a community, and postings include ones by guest photographers as well as readers like you. I strongly encourage you to help support the community by writing thoughtful comments to postings and offering your advice and ideas to fellow readers. I also sincerely hope you will contact me directly with your questions, comments and ideas for postings.
I must admit that I am totally, utterly, happily, giddily pro-digital photography. But I must confess that I was pretty slow to join the bandwagon, not buying my first digital camera until 2004. But once on board—shaking off my years of getting poisoned in the darkroom and handcuffed by the limitations of the chrome process—I saw digital for what it is: A fantasy of unlimited imaging possibilities.
I bring my profound enthusiasm for the digital photography to the ACMetaforum. However, I also bring my empathy for those who find digital more dumbfounding than liberating. I know how it feels. We all know how it feels! All of us are dumbfounded by any number of digital issues. For this reason, ACMetaforum will be addressing issues of all skill levels.
So that’s the skinny on ACMetaforum. It’s a digital photography destination designed to benefit you with practical advice. At the same time, it’s designed to serve as a place you can contribute your knowledge—and questions—helping determine where our dialog takes us. It’s good to have you on board! Ethan G.
