Carl Zeiss Makes EF Bayonet SLR Lenses

Carl Zeiss AG (Thornwood, NY) is adding to its existing SLR lenses a new line of ZE Lenses with EF bayonet mounts that fit all analog and digital EOS camera models. The new lenses transfer all information solely via electronic contacts, which means all exposure modes, such as programmed auto exposure, shutter priority, aperture priority and manual setting, are supported. With the new lenses aperture settings are controlled from the camera body and the automatic focus confirmation remains available. The first lenses in the new line are the Planar T* 1,4/50 ZE and the Planar T* 1,4/85 ZE, which will be available Q4 of 2008. Additional focal lengths will be added during the next few months.
