Adobe Updates DNG Specifications

Adobe Systems (San Jose, CA, www.adobe.com) has released an update to the Adobe Digital Negative specification (DNG). While providing more seamless workflows for Windows Vista users, the update addresses several important industry requirements. They include the formalization of the concept of a camera profile and the possibility that multiple camera profiles can be embedded in a single DNG file. Additionally, metadata tags have been defined for the DNG format, including a field to indicate the integrity of the RAW data within the file. The DNG Converter is available as a free download at www.adobe.com/dng. The DNG Code for Windows Vista is compatible only with 32-bit editions of Windows Vista.
