Sigma Adds Anti-shake Technology to Award-winning 17–70mm Lens
Sigma Corporation (Ronkonkoma, NY, www.sigmaphoto.com) has upgraded it award-winning 17–70mm f/2.8–4 DC Macro OS HSM lens. Now with state-of-the-art Optical Stabilization (OS), the improved lens makes possible shutter speeds about four stops slower than would otherwise be possible. The new lens has a minimum focusing distance of 8.7 inches, a quiet Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM), a rounded, seven-blade diaphragm, and Super Multi-Layer Coating, which reduces flare and ghosting. It also features three aspherical lenses and one Extraordinary Low Dispersion (ELD) glass element. The 17–70mm f/2.8–4 DC Macro OS HSM lens is currently available for Sigma, Canon, Nikon, Sony and Pentax mount cameras for an MSRP of $680.
